Good to Know
Changing your fuel filter is cheap insurance that takes about 15 minutes. Fill the new filter with clean diesel before installing to prevent air locks. Hand-tighten until the gasket contacts the mounting surface, then another 3/4 turn – over-tightening crushes the gasket and causes leaks. Change intervals vary by conditions, but if you’re buying fuel from farm tanks or running in dusty conditions, change it more often. A plugged fuel filter costs you power and fuel economy long before it stops you completely.
