Installation Notes
Before installing, run the A/C for a minute to check if the compressor clutch engages – no point installing a new belt if the compressor is seized. Route the belt carefully around all pulleys and idlers. Set tension so there’s about 3/8 inch deflection – A/C belts run tighter than fan belts. Too loose and it’ll squeal when the compressor kicks in; too tight damages the compressor bearings. Pro tip: if your A/C isn’t cooling well, check the belt first – a slipping belt means the compressor isn’t running at full speed.
