Description
We’ve all been there – removing a fuel cap for refueling, setting it on the fender, and then driving off only to realize it’s probably bouncing around somewhere in the field. This little spring might look insignificant, but it’s what keeps your diesel cap attached and within reach when you’re filling up your MF 165, 168, or 188.
What You’re Getting
- Spring steel construction that won’t snap from repeated use or weather exposure
- Direct replacement that works with bonnet parts 62015 and 62014
- Keeps your fuel cap secure but accessible during refueling operations
- Simple installation that takes just minutes with basic tools
Built for Daily Farm Work
These classic Massey Ferguson tractors from the 100 series are still working farms across the country, handling everything from hay cutting to cultivating and general utility work. Whether you’re using your MF for loader work, mowing, or running a brush hog, you need reliable fuel access without the hassle of lost caps.
Made to Last
This spring uses quality steel construction that resists corrosion from diesel fumes and weather. It maintains proper tension through years of daily use, keeping that fuel cap right where you need it without getting in the way of fuel flow.
Good to Know
Installation connects to existing mounting points on your bonnet assembly. While you’ve got things apart, it’s a good time to check your fuel cap’s seal and threads – a retaining spring won’t help much if the cap itself isn’t sealing properly. Many operators don’t realize their spring is missing until they’ve already lost a cap, so having a spare makes sense.
