Description
When your disc harrow’s starting to roll over tough corn stalks instead of cutting them down to size, you need blades that’ll get back to doing real work. This 28-inch notched disc blade brings aggressive cutting action back to your harrow, turning tough stalks and matted residue into properly sized pieces that’ll break down instead of hair-pinning around your planter next spring. The RFC design adds an extra level of performance for demanding tillage conditions.
What You’re Getting
- Aggressive notched edge creates a scissor action that slices through tough stalks other blades just bend over
- Heavy-duty 1/4-inch Boron 15B26 steel with 46-52 Rockwell hardness for long-lasting edge retention and durability
- Fits any disc harrow using 1-1/2 inch square axles with appropriate spacing
- RFC (Reinforced Face Construction) design for enhanced strength in heavy residue conditions
- Standard concavity provides proper soil flow and aggressive tillage action
Built for Real Farm Work
Your disc harrow needs to do more than just roll over crop residue – it needs to cut, size, and mix that material into the soil profile. In high-residue conditions like continuous corn or after cover crops, that notched edge makes the difference between effective residue management and a plugged-up mess that forces you to make extra passes. The larger 28-inch diameter maintains its cutting effectiveness longer as it wears, giving you more acres per blade.
Made to Last
Osmundson doesn’t mess around with blade materials. This Boron 15B26 steel maintains the perfect hardness range – hard enough at 46-52 Rockwell to hold an edge through acres of tough tillage, but not so brittle it shatters when you clip that hidden field stone. No fancy coatings here – just quality steel that works.
Installation Notes
When replacing blades, never mix worn and new on the same gang – the diameter difference creates uneven cutting that leaves mohawk strips. The single punch mounting means checking for elongated holes from wear – loose blades wobble and wear prematurely. Consider ordering full gang sets – shipping’s often the same, and you’ll need them eventually.
