Description
If you’ve ever wrestled with a clutch installation on your International Harvester tractor, you know the frustration of trying to get that transmission to mate up without the right alignment tool. Without proper alignment, you’ll fight to mate the transmission to the engine, risking bent clutch disc hubs, damaged input shaft splines, or misaligned pilot bearings. This specialized dual-spline alignment tool takes all the guesswork out of the job, keeping your clutch disc perfectly centered so everything slides together like it should.
What You’re Getting
- Dual spline design handles both 1-1/8″ and 1-5/8″ input shafts without swapping tools
- Precision 0.75″ pilot diameter fits snugly in IH pilot bearings for perfect centering
- 10-spline count on both sections matches your transmission specifications exactly
- Hardened steel construction stands up to repeated use in busy shop environments
- Works with popular IH clutch kits including 2786, 2787, and 4961
Built for Real Farm Work
This tool was designed specifically for International Harvester tractors with 10-spline transmissions, covering a wide range of models from utility tractors handling loader work to row-crop machines pulling heavy implements. Whether you’re working on an older tractor with the smaller 1-1/8″ input shaft or a newer model with the beefier 1-5/8″ setup, you’ve got the right fit without hunting through a toolbox full of different alignment tools.
Made to Last
Each tool in the kit is manufactured from quality materials that maintain their dimensions through countless clutch jobs. When you’re wrestling with heavy pressure plates and trying to align everything perfectly, these tools stay true and don’t bend under pressure. The hardened steel construction means this tool will keep its precision through years of clutch installations.
Good to Know
Slide the tool through your clutch disc and into the pilot bearing before installing any pressure plate bolts – it should fit snugly without forcing. The tool should slide in easily – if you’re forcing it, something’s wrong. Keep the tool in place while you torque down the pressure plate bolts in a star pattern, then remove it carefully once everything’s secured. A light coat of grease on the pilot section makes insertion and removal smoother.
