Description
When you’re hauling a loaded hay wagon or pulling a chisel plow through tough ground, your rear wheel studs take a beating. If you’ve noticed your wheels feeling loose or found a stud with stripped threads, it’s time to get it fixed before you have a wheel come loose on the highway or in the field. This rear wheel stud with its serrated shoulder design locks securely into your brake drum hub and keeps your wheels right where they belong.
What You’re Getting
- Serrated shoulder design that bites into the hub for a rock-solid hold
- 5/8″-18 thread pitch matches your original Ford specifications exactly
- Heat-treated steel construction that won’t stretch or break under heavy loads
- Rolled threads that are stronger and less likely to strip than cut threads
Built for Real Farm Work
This stud is designed for the workhorses of Ford’s lineup – the 8N, NAA (Golden Jubilee), and 600, 700, 800, 900, 2000, and early 4000 series tractors from 1958-1964. These are the tractors that built America’s farms, handling everything from cultivating corn to moving hay. Whether you’re running a loader, pulling implements, or hauling grain to market, this stud keeps your rear wheels secure.
Made to Last
The serrated shoulder isn’t just for show – those teeth dig into the hub metal and prevent the stud from spinning loose under stress. The heat-treated steel construction gives you the right balance of strength and flexibility to handle the constant loading and vibration that comes with farm work. This is the same quality you’d expect from Ford’s original equipment.
Installation Notes
You’ll need to remove the wheel and brake drum to access the hub for installation. Use a spare lug nut and washers as a puller to draw new studs in straight rather than hammering them in, which can damage the threads. Tighten until the stud shoulder seats firmly against the hub and those serrations bite in good. Once you’ve got the drum back on, torque your lug nuts to specification and recheck them after the first few hours of operation.
