Description
When you’re doing an engine rebuild or valve job on your Allis Chalmers tractor, you’ll need a full set of valve keys to keep everything running smooth. These little horseshoe-shaped pieces might look simple, but they’re what lock your valve stem tops in place and keep your valves seated properly. Without good keys, you’ll have valves rattling around or not sealing right—and that’s trouble you don’t need.
What You’re Getting
- Precision-made keys that fit snug around valve stems like they’re supposed to
- Heat-treated steel construction that won’t break under compression pressure
- Exact replacement for original factory keys—no modifications needed
- Complete set for your engine rebuild or valve service job
Built for Real Farm Work
These valve keys work in the workhorse engines that powered a lot of Allis Chalmers tractors back in the day. The 201 and 226 CID four-cylinder gas engines were in plenty of utility tractors doing loader work, hay operations, and general farm duties. The bigger 301 and 426 CID six-cylinder diesel engines handled the heavy pulling in row-crop and larger tractors.
Made to Last
Engine valve keys take a beating every time a valve opens and closes, which happens thousands of times per minute. These keys are made from quality steel and properly heat-treated to handle the constant stress and high temperatures inside your engine. They’ll keep your valves in place through years of hard work.
Installation Notes
Installing valve keys requires a valve spring compressor tool and some patience. Make sure your valve stems are clean and not scored before installing new keys. A light coat of assembly lube on the keys makes installation easier and helps prevent galling. Take your time—rushing this job usually means doing it over.
