Description
If you’ve noticed fuel dripping from your sediment bowl or spotted that telltale dark stain under your Fordson Major, chances are it’s time to replace that rubber gasket. This little seal might not look like much, but it’s what keeps your fuel where it belongs and prevents dirt and moisture from getting into your fuel system where they can cause real problems.
What You’re Getting
- Perfect fit for glass fuel sediment bowls on Major, Super Major, and Power Major tractors
- Stays flexible even after years of diesel exposure and temperature swings
- Creates a leak-proof seal that keeps fuel in and contaminants out
- Designed to compress just right – won’t over-tighten and crack your glass bowl
Built for Real Farm Work
These Fordson Major series tractors have been working farms for decades, and their mechanical fuel systems demand clean fuel to keep running reliably. The sediment bowl is your first line of defense against contamination, but only if it’s sealed properly. A bad gasket defeats the whole purpose – letting in dirt and air while letting precious fuel leak out.
Made to Last
This gasket is made from fuel-resistant rubber that won’t deteriorate when exposed to diesel. Unlike generic O-rings that might fit temporarily, this gasket has the right thickness and durometer to create a proper seal without putting stress on your glass bowl.
Installation Notes
When you’re replacing the gasket, drain the bowl first and clean the sealing surfaces thoroughly. The new gasket should sit flat in the groove – if it’s twisted or bunched up, you’ll get leaks. Hand-tighten the bowl just enough to compress the gasket evenly. Over-tightening is the quickest way to crack expensive glass.
