Description
When you’re running no-till and need to cut through heavy residue to place seed at just the right depth, your disc openers take a beating. If you’ve been dealing with uneven seed placement or your current openers are getting dull and ragged, this 13-1/2 inch disc opener will get you back to clean, consistent furrows that set your crop up for success.
What You’re Getting
- 3mm thickness cuts cleanly through corn stalks and crop residue without deflecting
- 13-1/2 inch diameter provides the right penetration depth for most seeding conditions
- Uses standard 205 series bearing with 5/8 inch hole for reliable rotation and easy replacement
- Made in the USA with quality steel that holds its edge through tough field conditions
- Direct replacement for multiple Great Plains part numbers – no modifications needed
Built for Real Farm Work
This disc fits late model drills with heavy duty openers and planter row units built 1999 and after. Whether you’re seeding wheat into corn stubble, planting soybeans in no-till conditions, or establishing cover crops, this opener handles the demanding work that comes with modern conservation tillage practices.
Made to Last
The 3mm blade thickness gives you the right balance – thin enough to slice cleanly through residue without dragging, but thick enough to maintain its edge and resist bending when you hit that inevitable rock or root. The USA-made steel construction means consistent quality that holds up to the vibration and impact of field work.
Installation Notes
Uses standard SMA205DDS bearing with 5/8 inch ID and Cap #205GPC. When replacing your opener, check the bearing condition too – a worn bearing will cause the new disc to wobble and wear prematurely. If you’ve got other openers showing wear, consider replacing them as a set to maintain consistent seed depth across your drill width.
