Replacing hand brake linings is a decent afternoon project but nothing you can’t handle. You’ll need to drill out the old rivets, clean up the brake bands, and rivet the new linings in place. Don’t forget to order rivets (part 58794) separately – they’re not included. After installation, take time to adjust the brake properly – too loose and it won’t hold, too tight and it’ll drag.
